Application and Admission

The Research School started in fall 2002. The working language is English. We accept applications throughout the year; no special deadlines apply. Successful applicants become IMPRS member and will be provided with a contract. Alternatively, PhD positions at the partner universities are available with an equivalent net income.

Requirements: Applicants should hold, or anticipate receiving in the immediate future, a Master’s degree or Diploma degree in Physics, Chemistry or Materials Science. Those students who hold a Bachelor’s degree may join the School to receive a Master’s degree or Diploma degree from the Humboldt-Universität or Freie Universität before advancing to doctorate studies. For details of admission at the Freie Universität, please read the current regulations of admission of the physics department of the Freie Universität.
